Let the birds awaken you with song, enjoy the antics of the swallows and humming birds,smile your way to the pond, be surprised at the deepness of the red in new waterlily leaves,the lime green of new parrot feather....the newts are a puzzle to find.....the goldfish are waking up and although they are slow they are attempting to jump for their mates. The tadpoles are coming to a close but seem much harder to find as wee frogs. Always something to look forward to.
Why is the Inn called Artists Khan?
Not exactly a Bed & Breakfast, and certainly not a resort, we are more...
The word Khan means "inn" in at least three different languages:Turkish; Swiss; and Chinese. Like historical rooming houses, we welcome adventurous travellers from around the globe to explore the beauty of Denman Island and the surrounding areas, and share stories under the stars or beside the fire, depending on the season.
We invite you to come as you are and be yourself, while we offer the kind of evergreen sanctuary where you can pick up a sketchbook, write a chapter of that novel you've been working on, or just breathe deep and enjoy the delights of inactivity. Above all, we are committed to provide space for you to be yourself, and express yourself creatively. In fact, if you're so inclined, we can arrange an exhibit for your work in our adjoining Oh My Gallery.
We are clean, we are cozy, we are comfortable, we are certainly characterful. Like your indefatigable hostess, each of our two rooms has personality in spades.
Whether you choose to stay in 'Sweet' or opt for an overnight in The Studio (photos and details at right) we will offer you a true glimpse of how things are done, island-style, and send you home with a renewed sense of beauty, inspiration, and humour.
